Colleagues, LinkedIn Contacts, other lovers of literature concerned for its future,
Give us a hand, please.
For the sake of literature and the future of our culture, support our efforts to allow the readers to decide what books the public should see.
The works of James Joyce, Mark Twain, Marcel Proust, you name them -- even though self-published -- became classics because they were available to readers in libraries and some open-minded bookstores.
We have now become members of the American Library Association and will work from the inside to make worthy self-published books accepted and offered to their patrons.
It is also my pleasure to announce that our new member, Larry Winebrenner, has agreed to represent us at ALA meetings, pro bono and on his nickel. We will be asking librarians if they want us to do anything more to do for them to put our Seal books on their shelves.
The playing field isn’t even.
Today’s new literary talent is hidden from the public because it is self-published. Readers aren’t able to find their books in libraries and bookstores.
The indiePENdents.org works to give new talent a chance by objectively evaluating and giving worthy books a Seal of Good Writing, giving them our imprimatur as properly written titles. There is no cost to writers for our objective, not profit-driven, evaluations.
Please spread the word about the work of The indiePEndents.org to all people you know who care about the future of liberal arts and to libraries, bookstores, and the media.
The indiePENdents.org, is a non-profit 501(c)3 entity. Volunteer evaluators are welcome. Free membership is available to everyone.
Check our website. Pass on this memo to your friends and give a donation, if you can. It will help us print and distribute our catalog -- WELL WRITTEN, WELL EDITED, UNKNOWN BOOKS -- to hundreds of public libraries. Contributions are tax-deductible.
Thank you all.
